Let us know if you can help with Harvest Fest, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10th! (Yes, also picture day.) Sign up at: https://bit.ly/JFKPTA-HFVolunteer24
Please sign up to volunteer as soon as possible. There is a backlog on processing CORI forms at the SPS HR Office and we will need to make special arrangements to be sure that all volunteers get cleared in time. No one can volunteer at school without a cleared SPS CORI - CORI checks from other agencies are unfortunately not accepted by SPS.
Some of the types of help we need for Harvest Fest:
Before event day:
prepping crafting or activities supplies
prepping a photo booth setup
sign-making ahead of the event
picking up donations of food or other items from local businesses and delivering to school before or on event day
On event day:
setup and decorating crew
serving snacks
face-painting
supervising student craft-making or games and activities stations
monitoring doors/hallways/other secure areas
helping supervise gym games or other gross motor activities
We will do our best to match volunteers with activities you're comfortable doing and your availability!
About Harvest Fest:
Harvest Fest is a celebration of Gratitude and School Community and Belonging.
An annual Kennedy tradition, Harvest Fest is a free, fun, inclusive indoor carnival held in our Cafeteria and Gym that brings Kennedy students and families together to celebrate the season. It features fall treats and themed activities and is entirely volunteer-planned and run.
Students in our Specialized Education programs and their families will participate in a sensory-friendly Harvest Fest during the school day from approximately 1:30-2:35pm.
All Kennedy students (PK-8) and their families are invited to the evening Harvest Fest from 5:00pm-6:30pm. We are seeking volunteers for both portions.
