8th Grade Fundraising Updates

The Election Day Bake Sale was a resounding success, earning the 8th Grade Class over $6,000 to pay for class yearbooks, field trip expenses, dances and end-of-year celebrations and ceremony.

Committee Chairs Kate Van Sleet and Amy Corbett and their crew of students and volunteers worked for 12 hours on election day Tuesday and their hard work paid off! The entire Kennedy community stepped up to help, with generous donations of delicious treats.

A note from Kate and Amy:

“We've got a few more fundraisers coming up and would love your volunteer help:

  • Henry Bears Park (holiday wrapping) 12/19, 10am-7pm: We're especially looking for parents to cover the times that the kids will be in school (we only need a max of two parents for each shift).  If you could spare an hour we'd appreciate it!

  • Porter Square Books, 2/7 (date tentative until we confirm our celebrity reader!)

We're still looking for folks who are willing to lead a subcommittee for event planning including (dance committee, fundraising efforts, graduation planning, etc.). Please let us know if you are able to assist!

Our next committee meeting is MONDAY (11/17) at 7:30pm. Hope to see you on Zoom! Agenda can be found here. Lots to talk about!

We can't wait to see you all soon!
